Avebury Stones - August 2025

A visit to Avebury Stones in Wiltshire is always something special. The site has stood for over 4,000 years and comprises of two stone circles - one of which tracks the course sun and the other the moon.

The site is particularly special to visit at sunset or sunrise, with its expansive views over the countryside it makes a spectacular place for a spot of landscape photography.


On Monday 4th August I went along on a specific visit with my local camera club and ended up taking over 200 raw images.


It was a real challenge to chose some highlights as almost every photo taken offers a unique perspective of the stones themselves as well as the surrounding landscape. You can view some of my personal favourite photographs from the trip below.
